The first video off We Were Astronauts debut Album entitled "Outside Boston"
With our Wachusett Mountain Show this Saturday, Scott McLennan of the Wachusett Entertainment Blog and music correspondent for the Boston Globe was kind enough to do a little write up of our album.
Check it out HERE
Here is a quote from the write up:
We Were Astronauts took the musicians’ route in making “Outside Boston,” a collection of 10 songs with plenty of varied textures. Rooted in alt-pop and indie rock, “Outside Boston” boasts the airy meanderings of “Skin,” the rumble of “The Circus Within” and “Rubber Tramp” and anthemic sweep of the title track and “Soapbox Shimmy.”
Damn, 2013 is already turning out to be quite a year. We want to send a sincere thank you out to all of our friends and family who came out to FireFly's for our CD Release Party. It was awesome to see so many people there and we had an unbelievable time playing and partying with you. We also want to send out a big thank you for Triple Threat (Danny Sutton, Derek Walker, and Matty Niro) for opening the show as well as for Sunshine Riot for bringing down the house at the end of the night. Also, a big thanks to all of you who purchased CDs and T-shirts. We really appreciate the support. If you didn't get a chance to purchase merchandise at the show, you can visit the STORE page on this website and purchase online.
We are also planning some pretty cool shows and other events for the future. Make sure to check the Events page often to see where and when we'll be playing next at a venue near you. We appreciate the continued support. We will be playing a Winter Wonderland Masquerade Party with Shakedown and the Phreaks at the Cannery Music Hall in Southbridge, MA on February 15. We will be filming and recording the show for an upcoming video release too, so we'd definitely love for you to come down. We are continuing to book dates all over the Northeast while we continue to work on new material and write our next record!
Keep on keeping on and stay in touch. We love to hear what you think of the material and we always love new fans as well, so keep spreading the word and sharing our music and media. We hope to see you soon!

Hey Hey Hey,
Things have been moving along quite rapidly and we like to keep everyone in the loop. The end of the production process for our debut record is fast approaching. The record is being mixed as we speak by the one, the only Chris Mara at Welcome to 1979 studio down in Nashville, TN. He has been sending up some tracks as they are being completed and let me tell you, they sound awesome. We really can't wait for you to hear 'em. Once the mixes are done, they'll be off to the mastering decks where Mr. Tommy Wiggins will be working his magic.
We really can't say enough about all of the truly awesome people who have worked on this record. We have some phenomenal talent behind this record and we also have some really big hearts behind it as well. Not only has it taken hard work, talent, and a lot of sleepless nights, but also money. And we certainly can't forget all of those who have backed the record financially. We certainly couldn't do it without you! So far it's been an awesome experience and I'm sure the end product will reflect how great it's been.
We have some more shows coming up in the month of December and into the new year. We know that it's a busy time of year with shopping and holiday parties and family coming and going, but we'd really love to see you come out and have a great time with us as well. Keep checking our website and FaceBook page for new dates as well as more info on our CD RELEASE PARTY!!!
Finally, as with any new artist, band, or musician, we're always looking to get our music out to new people. Whether they see us playing live, hear our tunes, check out our website or FaceBook page, or hear about us from a friend, every new set of ears helps. We really appreciate it if you can help spread the word about We Were Astronauts!!! Tells your friends, share our website and FaceBook page, bring your friends and family to our shows and get the word out. Every bit helps and every bit is very much appreciated.
Thanks for reading and staying in touch. We hope to see you all at a show near you soon.
Antonio, Chris, Steve, Tim ... We Were Astronauts
Hey everyone. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. We are wrapping up all of the tracks for the record. We had an awesome time with Chris Mara and the gang down at Welcome to '79 Studio down in Nashville, TN. Chris will be mixing the record in November and we're looking to set a release date in early 2013. We hope you're as excited as we are to be able to share this record with you.
Also, we're in the process of booking dates for the rest of 2012 and into the Winter and Spring of 2013. We have a great gig coming up at Hennessy's Hooley House near Faneuil Hall in Boston on Thursday, October 25, 2012. This is going to be a ripping HALLOWEEN PAHTY!!!! Complete with 5 bands, special food and drinks, prizes awarded for top costumes, and much more. 5 bands and a ton of fun for $10. We hope to see you there.
As always, we're working really hard to put some really cool stuff together for you, our awesome fans. We always appreciate it when you share our posts on FB and invite your friends to "like" our page. Keep fighting the good fight and we'll give it our all for you guys.
So a little over a month ago the band decided to set up a kickstarter account in order to fund our record. We had nothing to show you guys aside from a few tunes, yet you backed us!. Our Kickstarter was a success! We really can't thank you all enough. I think you will be pleased when you hear the music that comes out of this recording session. Just know its all because of you!!!.
Keep checking back in. In the next few weeks we will be posting pictures and videos of our experience in Nashville at studio "Welcome to 1979".

So we are hitting the studio next month to record our first record. We are super excited to say we have finalized the plans and will be heading into Welcome to 1979. It is an all analog studio, which means we will be recording to tape! That's pretty rad right?
Recording isn't cheap. Neither is mixing, mastering and pressing the cd. Tim Corrigan failed to mention he wasn't the trust fund baby we thought he was...i guess we will keep him in the band for now. He does have a smart beard after all! Anyway, There is this cool site known as Kickstarter where we are asking for you, the fans to contribute to our dream. You can help fund our record and in return you will receive some pretty spectacular gifts. So check it out if you have the time and please please spread the word!
